The Hardest Task - Leaving the Dock

I'm back from New York and we're and finally, the time has come to leave the dock. We have spent months basking in the comfort of living on our boat, attached to the sturdy cement and wooden dock. There, it was easy to get on and off the boat, visit our friends and neighbors, swim in the pool, use our air conditioner, and get more water. Now, we would have to rely on our dinghy to get anywhere, and we would have to use less air conditioning and water. But, we would not be paying expensive dockage fees! Yay for us! So, tailing our friends, we left Secret Harbour dock in order to anchor in the next harbor, Prickly Bay.

Prickly is a popular harbor, with many advantages. They had a restaurant, two small stores, laundry services and fuel. It was also an easier (long) walk to the grocery stores. But staying there required us to get into the dinghy, motor over to the dinghy dock, lock our transportation, and get onto dry land. Then, do the same in reverse order get back to Liahona. Not such an easy task for this spring chicken.  Lol!

We stayed there for about three weeks, before we decided it was time to truly begin our journey.

Sunny days ahead,

Miriam
