A Chance to See Friends in the British Virgin Islands

We headed next for Tortola, an island in the BVI's, and checked into the country right away. The next day we were able to see our friends from Secret Harbour, Grenada. They reside on a charter catamaran and work as Captain and Chef during the cruising season. We were so happy to see them as they were instrumental in our beginning days. We spent the day running errands with them and the evening together at a lovely restaurant on the water. That was the only day we were able to spend with them. They are extremely busy this time of year. It was such a treat to see them.
The next day we left for Bight Bay, Norman Island. We went to Willy T's for lunch. It can be a crazy bar, with people jumping off the deck into the water. It was fun, but not too crazy mid-day.
The next stop was Cane Garden Bay, in Tortola, a lovely little resort town. We spent several days there, enjoying the sun, restaurants and shops.
Finally, we went over to the United States, the US Virgin Islands, that is. We anchored in Cruz Bay, St. John, where we did some snorkeling.
Later, we met up with friends who we had met in Barbuda. We snorkeled in Francis Bay, Maho Bay and Little Cinnamon Bay. We walked on the beaches and had sundowners on friends' boats. It was a marvelous week.
More USVI's in the next post,
Miriam
